LED Modded Xbox One Console CASE (SmithHills)
So I finally got 90% of my Console finished and liking it so far. The Xbone is UGLY! So, since my warranty is up in 2 weeks, I wanted to light it up. Hope you enjoy.
Next , I want to have the fan showing only and not the ring around the fan. I am going to do one of my controllers next also.
My Xbone torn down and ready to start….
Drilled my fan shroud to accept LED’s and painted my fan chrome to bounce the lights around…..
Drilled holes for my bottom LED’s, sides also…..
Drilled out like 32 holes to release fan grill so I could reverse the grill to show fan and cut out my window with a Dremel…..
Started to route my wiring and LED’s out……
OK, for the power source. I originally hooked it up to the Optical Drive, which, I didn’t want to because if you don’t have a CD spinning at all times, you lose power to your lights. I cleaned it all up. If you are facing the rear of the Xbox from the front, meaning the front of the console is touching my chest, it is the top furthest left wire.
(-DISCLAIMER- Your light kit will come with an adapter to plug into the wall and works right out of the package. I did all my light testing with the adapter plugged into the wall so if I had a short in my soldering, it wouldn’t harm my Xbox. The last step I did before final assembly of the case was to then solder the power adapter to the Xbox One power source when I knew my connections were safe)
Negative was soldered to any metal point in the rear then I hot glued it for safety….
But thanks to a fellow Se7ensins member, I re-soldered it to a constant power source but left my negative where it was since it was safe…..
Testing the lights to test my soldering skills…..
I hid the white control box here and the speaker is moved to the right of it. This is behind the power button of the Xbox….
Put my Pexi-glass in and then decided to paint my Xbox so, I had to remove it and reinstall later…
I decided to paint my Xbox with Valspar Grey Stone Spray Paint and it looks awesome!
Below are nearly finished pictures and I’ll upload a Video later of all the effects of the lights.
LOL, proof ready and checking my photos, I just realized I forgot to peel the sticker off covering the little Xbox log above the CD slot.
Also, You can take the top cover off of the CD Drive to expose the mechanics, which I think looks awesome. But, after having a few open Xbox 360’s to hotswap modded disks back in the days, my lens kept getting dusty/dirty and wouldn’t read disc’s until I cleaned it. So, I decided to keep the cover on (very easy to take off)
Hope you like it. Video will be up later! Thanks for looking [DOUBLEPOST=1443961472][/DOUBLEPOST]Videos are up, sorry for the dirty room/workshop.
